He married Stella Ruth Johnson on 3 December 1935, in Pomroy Township, Itasca, Minnesota, United States. He lived in Clarkston, Asotin, Washington, United States in 1970. He registered for military service in 1942. He died on 24 May 1987, in Nez Perce, Idaho, United States, at the age of 72, and was buried in Normal Hill Cemetery, Lewiston, Nez Perce, Idaho, United States.
