He married Mildred Isabel Phillips on 28 March 1929, in Little Current, Northeastern Manitoulin and the Islands, Manitoulin, Ontario, Canada. They were the parents of at least 1 daughter. He lived in Algoma, Ontario, Canada in 1911. He died on 27 August 1978, in Sudbury, Ontario, Canada, at the age of 67.

Born on May 28, 1934, the Dionne quintuplets were the first set of quintuplets to survive infancy. The five girls were born two months prematuare and months later were taken from their parents by the Red Cross. In the 1940s they were returned to their family.
