When Eric Pakenham-Walsh was born on 18 March 1911, in Fuzhou, Fujian, China, his father, Canon William Sandford Pakenham-Walsh, was 43 and his mother, Gertrude Maud Harmar, was 39. He immigrated to San Francisco, San Francisco, California, United States in 1919. He died on 20 November 1960, in Nairobi, Kenya, at the age of 49, and was buried in Limuru, Kiambu, Kenya.

1921 · Founding of the Communist Party of China

The CPC, Communist Party of China, was founded on July 23, 1921. It was the founding political party of the People's Republic of China, and remains the only governing party within mainland China to this day (although there are eight other subordinated parties that are permitted by the government). Name Meaning

Of Old Norse origin, from ei ‘ever, always’ (or einn ‘one, alone’) + ríkr ‘ruler’ ( see Eirik ). It was introduced into Britain by Scandinavian settlers before the Norman Conquest. As a modern given name, it was revived in the mid 19th century and has remained in use since.
