Mark Golden Sr was born on 22 January 1762, in Lincoln, Georgia, United States as the son of Elender Eli Golden Gwaltney and Ahyoka Watike Cherokee. He married Sarah Tyler about April 1795. They were the parents of at least 2 sons and 1 daughter. He died on 25 January 1844, in Chambers, Alabama, United States, at the age of 82, and was buried in Holly Springs, Camp, Texas, United States.

1786 · Shays' Rebellion

Caused by war veteran Daniel Shays, Shays' Rebellion was to protest economic and civil rights injustices that he and other farmers were seeing after the Revolutionary War. Because of the Rebellion it opened the eyes of the governing officials that the Articles of Confederation needed a reform. The Rebellion served as a guardrail when helping reform the United States Constitution.
