1918 · Attempting to Stop the War

Age 1

To end World War I, President Wilson created a list of principles to be used as negotiations for peace among the nations. Known as The Fourteen Points, the principles were outlined in a speech on war aimed toward the idea of peace but most of the Allied forces were skeptical of this Wilsonian idealism.
1922 · The First Radio Station WOK Begins Broadcasting

In 1922, Harvey C. Couch Sr. started WOK the first radio station in Arkansas. After a trip to Pittsburgh and the KDKA radio he came up with the idea for Workers of Killowatts (WOK). WOK had no commercials which was nice for the listeners.

English: perhaps a deliberate alteration of Leatherhead, a habitational name from Leatherhead in Surrey, which is named from Celtic lēd ‘gray’ + rïd ‘ford’, or alternatively a habitational name from Lythwood in Shropshire, which is named from Old English hlið ‘slope’ + wudu ‘wood’.
