1896 · The Yaqui Uprising

Age 2

The Yaqui Uprising was a conflict that was fought between the residents of Sonora and Arizona over several days. It started as an agreement of the Native Americans, in the state of Sonora, and Lauro Aguirre to start by capturing the customs house in Nogales. This confrontation was one of the last battles during the American Indian Wars. Several people were killed and wounded but was a win in the Revolution of Mexico.

1912

"Pascual Orozco rebels against Madero. Victoriano Huerta's troops crush rebellion. Huerta exiled to France. Zapata and Francisco ""Pancho""Villa enter Mexico City. Venustiano Carranza establishes constitutional government at Veracruz."

Name Meaning

Galician and Spanish: habitational name from Lugo, a city in Galicia.This was a Roman settlement under the name of Lucus Augusti ‘grove or wood of Augustus’, but that may have been no more than an adaptation of an earlier name derived from that of the Celtic god Lugos.
