When William Alder Watt was born on 7 December 1926, in St. Louis, St. Louis, Missouri, United States, his father, Charles C. Watt, was 23 and his mother, Sarah Ellen Applegate, was 22. He married Marian Lillian Dueringer on 12 August 1951. He registered for military service in 1945. He died on 20 October 2006, in Grand Rapids, Kent, Michigan, United States, at the age of 79.
