When Knud Christen Christensen was born on 9 May 1819, in Åsted, Sejlstrup, Denmark, his father, Christen Knudsen, was 28 and his mother, Inger Marie Christensdatter, was 23. He married Ane Kirstine Jensdatter on 30 November 1843, in Åsted, Sejlstrup, Denmark. They were the parents of at least 4 sons and 7 daughters. He lived in Børglum, Børglum, Denmark in 1880 and Åsted, Horns, Hjørring, Denmark in 1890. He died on 4 January 1899, at the age of 79.

1829 · Oldest Leather Goods in Denmark

Kuffert Sorensen was established in 1829 by Carl Peter Sorensen as a leather goods company. Today the business has five locations and each are run by a member of the Sorensen family.

1847 · Casino Theatre (Copenhagen)

The Casino Theatre was built as an entertainment center by Georg Carstensen but was converted into a theatre in 1848. After many years of never gaining popularity, it was closed in 1937 and demolished in 1960.
