When Grazia Piras was born on 26 December 1866, in Cagliari, Sardinia, Italy, her father, Salvatore Piras, was 34 and her mother, Antonia Aresu, was 22. She had at least 3 sons and 4 daughters with Antonio Gaudenzio Tomaso Chiaberge. She died on 28 March 1954, in her hometown, at the age of 87.
