Mary Rahil was born on 25 December 1839, in St. Andrews, Cornwall, Stormont, Upper Canada, British Colonial America as the daughter of James Rahil and Mary Brady. She married Benjamin Wood on 24 January 1864, in Stormont Dundas and Glengarry, Ontario, Canada. They were the parents of at least 1 son. She died on 1 November 1868, in her hometown, at the age of 28, and was buried in St. Andrews, Stormont Dundas and Glengarry, Ontario, Canada.
