He married Alice Jane Moon on 4 February 1846, in Nauvoo, Hancock, Illinois, United States. They were the parents of at least 4 sons and 1 daughter. He immigrated to Utah, United States in 1847 and lived in Ledbury, Herefordshire, England, United Kingdom in 1841 and Payson, Utah, Utah, United States in 1860. He died on 14 December 1906, in American Fork, Utah, Utah, United States, at the age of 83, and was buried in American Fork Cemetery, American Fork, Utah, Utah, United States.
