When William Elvin Beecroft was born on 3 December 1906, in Colonia Pacheco, Chihuahua, Mexico, his father, Robert Chestnut Beecroft, was 33 and his mother, Nancy Edna Buchanan, was 21. He married Beth Brown on 15 March 1941, in Clint, El Paso, Texas, United States. They were the parents of at least 2 sons. He immigrated to World in 1941 and lived in Colonia Juárez, Casas Grandes, Chihuahua, Mexico in 1930 and World in 1930. He died on 26 February 1987, in Maricopa, Arizona, United States, at the age of 80, and was buried in Mesa, Maricopa, Arizona, United States.

1908 · Utah's First National Monument

Natural Bridges National Monument was designated a National Monument in 1908 by President Theodore Roosevelt. It is Utah’s first National Monument but didn’t get many visitors until after the uranium boom of the 1950s. Today the Monument and its park became the first International Dark Sky Park certified by the International Dark-Sky Association.
