He married Mary Hansen on 20 December 1875, in Salt Lake City, Salt Lake, Utah, United States. They were the parents of at least 5 sons and 5 daughters. He lived in Borre, Mønbo, Præstø, Denmark in 1860 and Scipio, Millard, Utah, United States in 1880. He died on 26 February 1935, in Salina, Sevier, Utah, United States, at the age of 81, and was buried in East Side Cemetery, Salina, Sevier, Utah, United States.
