He married Sina Christena Olsen on 25 May 1910, in Salt Lake City, Salt Lake, Utah, United States. They were the parents of at least 4 sons and 5 daughters. He lived in Alberta, Northwest Territories, Canada in 1901 and World for about 10 years. He died on 1 September 1934, in Cardston County, Alberta, Canada, at the age of 48, and was buried in Magrath, Cardston County, Alberta, Canada.
