When George Washington Gee was born on 13 August 1815, in Ashtabula, Ashtabula, Ohio, United States, his father, Salmon Gee, was 22 and his mother, Sarah Watson Crane, was 20. He married Mary Jane Smith on 27 January 1837, in Kirtland Township, Geauga, Ohio, United States. They were the parents of at least 2 sons. He died on 20 January 1842, in Pittsburgh, Allegheny, Pennsylvania, United States, at the age of 26, and was buried in Pittsburgh, Allegheny, Pennsylvania, United States.

1819 · Panic! of 1819

With the Aftermath of the Napoleonic Wars the global market for trade was down. During this time, America had its first financial crisis and it lasted for only two years. 

1820 · Making States Equal

The Missouri Compromise helped provide the entrance of Maine as a free state and Missouri as a slave state into the United States. As part of the compromise, slavery was prohibited north of the 36°30′ parallel, excluding Missouri.

1825 · The Crimes Act

The Crimes Act was made to provide a clearer punishment of certain crimes against the United States. Part of it includes: Changing the maximum sentence of imprisonment to be increased from seven to ten years and changing the maximum fine from $5,000 to $10,000.
