When Jacob Peter Kjar was born on 26 December 1853, in Hals, Ålborghus, Denmark, his father, Lars Christian Kjar, was 37 and his mother, Mettie Maria Christensen, was 34. He died on 17 June 1855, at the age of 1, and was buried in Pioneer Children's Memorial, Salt Lake City, Salt Lake, Utah, United States.
