When Ole Christian Nielsen Sonne was born on 1 February 1822, in Nørholm, Ålborghus, Denmark, his father, Niels Olesen Sonne, was 36 and his mother, Karen Christiansdatter, was 31. He married Cathrine Cicilie Hvilsom on 16 July 1854, in Trinitatis, København, Denmark. He lived in Nørholm, Hornum, Ålborg, Denmark for about 11 years and Frejlev, Hornum, Ålborg, Denmark in 1855. He died on 21 September 1900, in Mendon, Cache, Utah, United States, at the age of 78, and was buried in Mendon City Cemetery, Mendon, Cache, Utah, United States.
