When Benjamin Pike Green was born on 27 September 1809, in Lawrencetown, Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada, his father, Henry Green, was 28 and his mother, Rosanna Graham, was 30. He married Lucy Louisa Wisdom on 30 August 1835, in Halifax, Nova Scotia, British North America. They were the parents of at least 5 sons and 7 daughters. He immigrated to Salt Lake City, Salt Lake, Utah, United States in 1855 and lived in Klamath, California, United States in 1877 and Los Angeles, Los Angeles, California, United States in 1882. He died in February 1886, in Upper Lake, Lake, California, United States, at the age of 76, and was buried in Upper Lake Cemetery, Upper Lake, Lake, California, United States.

1830 · The Second Great Awakening

Being a second spiritual and religious awakening, like the First Great Awakening, many Churches began to spring up from other denominations. Many people began to rapidly join the Baptist and Methodist congregations. Many converts to these religions believed that the Awakening was the precursor of a new millennial age.
