When George Elliott was born on 10 October 1814, in Radford, Nottinghamshire, England, United Kingdom, his father, George Benjamin Elliott, was 22 and his mother, Ann Withers, was 30. He married Eliza Harriet Vinton on 20 February 1838, in Radford, Nottinghamshire, England, United Kingdom. They were the parents of at least 6 sons and 4 daughters. He immigrated to Utah, United States in 1860 and lived in Victoria, Australia in 1855 and Cosumne, Sacramento, California, United States in 1860. He registered for military service in 1866. In 1840, his occupation is listed as lacemaker in Calais Saint-Pierre, Pas-de-Calais, France. He died on 19 December 1904, in Provo, Utah, Utah, United States, at the age of 90, and was buried in Provo City Cemetery, Provo, Utah, Utah, United States.
