When Elijah Cheney was born on 14 September 1785, in Great Barrington, Berkshire, Massachusetts, United States, his father, John Cheney, was 28 and his mother, Elizabeth Granger, was 25. He married Anna Partridge about October 1805, in United States. They were the parents of at least 1 daughter. He lived in Mercer, Illinois, United States in 1840 and Salt Lake, Utah, United States in 1850. He died on 3 November 1863, in Centerville, Davis, Utah, United States, at the age of 78, and was buried in Centerville City Cemetery, Centerville, Davis, Utah, United States.

1786 · Shays' Rebellion

Caused by war veteran Daniel Shays, Shays' Rebellion was to protest economic and civil rights injustices that he and other farmers were seeing after the Revolutionary War. Because of the Rebellion it opened the eyes of the governing officials that the Articles of Confederation needed a reform. The Rebellion served as a guardrail when helping reform the United States Constitution.

The Philadelphia Convention was intended to be the first meeting to establish the first system of government under the Articles of Confederation. From this Convention, the Constitution of the United States was made and then put into place making it one of the major events in all American History.
