He immigrated to New Orleans, Orleans, Louisiana, United States in 1854. He died on 16 May 1898, in Salt Lake City, Salt Lake, Utah, United States, at the age of 69, and was buried in Salt Lake City Cemetery, Salt Lake City, Salt Lake, Utah, United States.
