When Sarah Davis was born on 1 January 1829, in Llanfihangel in Talley, Carmarthenshire, Wales, United Kingdom, her father, Daniel Davis, was 35 and her mother, Sarah Thomas, was 31. She married Benjamin John Phillips about 15 June 1850. They were the parents of at least 2 sons. She lived in Montana, United States in 1870 and Deer Lodge, Montana, United States in 1880. She died on 11 February 1898, in Oakland, Alameda, California, United States, at the age of 69.

1831 · Merthyr Uprising 

Sparked by a depression that was going through Wales the previous three years, the Merthyr uprisings were carried out by workers that were in debt. In the process, twenty-four people were killed and twenty-six were arrested. Troops were brought in to stop the protestors.

1851 · Brigham City is Settled

In 1851, Brigham City is settled and named after Brigham Young.
