When John S Beesley was born on 5 November 1797, in Failsworth, Lancashire, England, his father, Joseph Beesley Sr., was 29 and his mother, Rebecca Heron, was 25. He married Ann Wright on 22 May 1825, in Manchester, Lancashire, England, United Kingdom. They were the parents of at least 2 daughters. He lived in Franklin, Indiana, United States in 1840. He died on 9 November 1864, in Provo, Utah, Utah, United States, at the age of 67, and was buried in Provo, Utah, Utah, United States.

While the growth of the new nation was exponential, the United States didn’t have permanent location to house the Government. The First capital was temporary in New York City but by the second term of George Washington the Capital moved to Philadelphia for the following 10 years. Ultimately during the Presidency of John Adams, the Capital found a permanent home in the District of Columbia.
