When Elizabeth Cook was born on 24 July 1809, in Churchtown, Caernarvon Township, Lancaster, Pennsylvania, United States, her father, Stephen Cook, was 27 and her mother, Isabella Norris, was 22. She married Thomas Kirkpatrick on 9 February 1826, in Chester, Pennsylvania, United States. They were the parents of at least 2 sons. She lived in Pottawattamie, Iowa, United States in 1850 and Mount Pleasant, Sanpete, Utah, United States in 1860. She died on 26 March 1899, in Salt Lake City, Salt Lake, Utah, United States, at the age of 89, and was buried in Salt Lake City Cemetery, Salt Lake City, Salt Lake, Utah, United States.

1836 · Remember the Alamo

Being a monumental event in the Texas Revolution, The Battle of the Alamo was a thirteen-day battle at the Alamo Mission near San Antonio. In the early morning of the final battle, the Mexican Army advanced on the Alamo. Quickly being overrun, the Texian Soldiers quickly withdrew inside the building. The battle has often been overshadowed by events from the Mexican–American War, But the Alamo gradually became known as a national battle site and later named an official Texas State Shrine.
