He immigrated to Salt Lake City, Salt Lake, Utah, United States in 1850 and lived in Nauvoo, Hancock, Illinois, United States in 1839 and Springville, Utah, Utah, United States in 1860. He died on 17 March 1899, in Heber City, Wasatch, Utah, United States, at the age of 73, and was buried in Heber City Cemetery, Heber City, Wasatch, Utah, United States.

1830 · The Second Great Awakening

Being a second spiritual and religious awakening, like the First Great Awakening, many Churches began to spring up from other denominations. Many people began to rapidly join the Baptist and Methodist congregations. Many converts to these religions believed that the Awakening was the precursor of a new millennial age.

1845 · Oh My Father

"In October 1845, the newspaper Times and Seasons published a poem written by Eliza R. Snow entitled ""My Father in Heaven."" It has become the well known hymn, ""Oh My Father."" The song is only one in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints hymnbook that referrs to a Heavenly Mother."
