He married Maribah Morton on 28 December 1824, in Williston, Chittenden, Vermont, United States. They were the parents of at least 5 sons and 1 daughter. He registered for military service in 1866. He died on 10 May 1881, in Springdale, Washington, Utah, United States, at the age of 77, and was buried in Mount Carmel Cemetery, Mount Carmel, Kane, Utah, United States.
