When Nancy Henderson was born on 13 January 1828, in Belleview Township, Washington, Missouri, United States, her father, Samuel Henderson Sr, was 42 and her mother, Elizabeth Harris, was 27. She married Josiah Wolcott Fleming on 7 February 1846, in Nauvoo, Hancock, Illinois, United States. She lived in Nauvoo, Hancock, Illinois, United States in 1839. She died on 18 December 1863, in Richmond, Cache, Utah, United States, at the age of 35, and was buried in Richmond City Cemetery, Richmond, Cache, Utah, United States.

1830 · The Second Great Awakening

Being a second spiritual and religious awakening, like the First Great Awakening, many Churches began to spring up from other denominations. Many people began to rapidly join the Baptist and Methodist congregations. Many converts to these religions believed that the Awakening was the precursor of a new millennial age.

1832 · Black Hawk War

The Black Hawk War was a brief conflict between the United States and Native Americans led by Black Hawk, a Sauk leader. The war erupted soon after Black Hawk and a group of other tribes, known as the "British Band", crossed the Mississippi River, into Illinois, from Iowa Indian Territory in April 1832. Black Hawk's motives were ambiguous, but records show that he was hoping to avoid bloodshed while resettling on tribal land that had been given to the United States in the 1804 Treaty of St. Louis.

1839 · Nauvoo is Settled

After the Saints had been chased out of Missouri they moved to a swampy area located next to the Mississippi River. Here they settled and named the place Nauvoo which translates into the city beautiful.

English and Scottish: usually from Middle English and Older Scots Hener(i)son ‘Henry's son’, occasionally from Middle English Hendeson ‘son of Hen’, a pet form of Henry , both with an intrusive -d-. Compare Hendrie . In Scotland Henderson was sometimes substituted for McKendrick .
