He married Ane Andersen on 10 July 1847, in Låsby, Skanderborg, Denmark. They were the parents of at least 1 son. He lived in Låsby, Gjern, Skanderborg, Denmark for about 10 years. He died on 12 June 1888, in Moroni, Sanpete, Utah, United States, at the age of 66, and was buried in Moroni, Sanpete, Utah, United States.
