He married Lydia Ann Applegate on 13 August 1848, in Louisiana, Pike, Missouri, United States. They were the parents of at least 4 sons and 3 daughters. He lived in Parowan, Iron, Utah, United States in 1870 and Silver Reef, Washington, Utah, United States in 1880. He died on 13 June 1896, in Polk Township, Atchison, Missouri, United States, at the age of 73, and was buried in Grange Hall Cemetery, Rock Port, Atchison, Missouri, United States.

1825 · The Crimes Act

The Crimes Act was made to provide a clearer punishment of certain crimes against the United States. Part of it includes: Changing the maximum sentence of imprisonment to be increased from seven to ten years and changing the maximum fine from $5,000 to $10,000.

1835 · The Hermitage is Built

The Hermitage located in Nashville, Tennessee was a plantation owned by President Andrew Jackson from 1804 until his death there in 1845. The Hermitage is now a museum.
