He married Sarah Ann Motley on 11 May 1860, in Manti, Sanpete, Utah, United States. They were the parents of at least 6 sons and 7 daughters. He immigrated to Utah, United States in 1852 and lived in Pottawattamie, Iowa, United States in 1850 and Cardston Alberta Temple, Cardston, Cardston County, Alberta, Canada in 1906. He registered for military service in 1857. He died on 11 May 1911, in Cardston County, Alberta, Canada, at the age of 73, and was buried in Wales, Sanpete, Utah, United States.
