When Samuel Goforth Henderson Jr was born on 9 October 1820, in Belleview Township, Washington, Missouri, United States, his father, Samuel Henderson Sr, was 35 and his mother, Mary Elizabeth Goforth, was 36. He married Mary Etta Coray on 30 January 1844, in Nauvoo, Hancock, Illinois, United States. They were the parents of at least 5 sons. He lived in Davis, Utah, United States in 1850 and Oxford, Oneida, Idaho, United States in 1880. He registered for military service in 1851. He died on 29 October 1904, in Osmond Community, Lincoln, Wyoming, United States, at the age of 84, and was buried in Clifton, Oneida, Idaho, United States.

1821 · Financial Relief for Public Land

A United States law to provide financial relief for the purchasers of Public Lands. It permitted the earlier buyers, that couldn't pay completely for the land, to return the land back to the government. This granted them a credit towards the debt they had on land. Congress, also, extended credit to buyer for eight more years. Still while being in economic panic and the shortage of currency made by citizens, the government hoped that with the time extension, the economy would improve.

1842 · Relief Society Organized

The Relief Society of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints was organized on March 17, 1842. Emma Smith was the first Relief Society president. It was established as a way to help strengthen and serve other women.
