He married Amanda Hagle on 24 February 1869, in Warwick Township, Lambton, Ontario, Canada. They were the parents of at least 5 sons and 6 daughters. He lived in Salt Lake, Utah, United States in 1850. He registered for military service in 1865. He died on 19 January 1936, in Salt Lake City, Salt Lake, Utah, United States, at the age of 95, and was buried in Mendon City Cemetery, Mendon, Cache, Utah, United States.
