1994 · The violent Crime Control and Law Enforcement Act
Dealing with high amounts of crime during the early 1990s, Congress passed the Violent Crime Control and Law Enforcement Act. The Act expands more on the Federal Assault Weapons Ban, the death penalty, and what is better defined as hate and sex crimes. It also required all the states to establish sex offender registries by September 1997.

1998 · The Lewinsky scandal
Causing an Uproar throughout the nation, the sex scandal between, then, 49-year-old Bill Clinton and 22-year-old Monica Lewinsky came into light. Found in this scandal was acts of perjury from the president and Bill Clinton became the second president to be considered for impeachment. He was later acquitted on his charges and continued out the rest of his Presidency in civil contempt of court.
