    1851 · The First Schoolhouse in Murray
    Age 3
    A small, single room, adobe schoolhouse was built in Murray was built in 1851. A centrally located stove was used for heat. During the cold months, the students sat near the stove according to their age with the youngest children nearest the heat. Helen Holmes was the school's first teacher.
