He immigrated to Utah, United States in 1857 and lived in Systofte, Systofte, Nykøbing, Denmark in 1850 and Iowa City, Johnson, Iowa, United States in 1857. He died on 5 January 1891, in Parowan, Iron, Utah, United States, at the age of 46, and was buried in Parowan Cemetery, Parowan, Iron, Utah, United States.
