He married Mary Angeline Frost on 29 January 1854, in Sidney Township, Fremont, Iowa, United States. They were the parents of at least 5 sons and 7 daughters. He lived in Yavapai, Arizona, United States in 1880. He died on 5 May 1902, in Colonia Díaz, Ascensión, Chihuahua, Mexico, at the age of 67, and was buried in Colonia Díaz, Ascensión, Chihuahua, Mexico.

1836 · Remember the Alamo

Being a monumental event in the Texas Revolution, The Battle of the Alamo was a thirteen-day battle at the Alamo Mission near San Antonio. In the early morning of the final battle, the Mexican Army advanced on the Alamo. Quickly being overrun, the Texian Soldiers quickly withdrew inside the building. The battle has often been overshadowed by events from the Mexican–American War, But the Alamo gradually became known as a national battle site and later named an official Texas State Shrine.

Anastasio Bustamante becomes president, initiating a process of centralization.

1853

Santa Anna returns to Mexico and becomes president. Sells additional territory to United States under Gadsden Purchase.
