Brief Life History of Peter

When Peter Hansen was born on 29 September 1827, in Havløkke, Østofte, Ålholm, Denmark, his father, Hans Jörgensen, was 25 and his mother, Ane Pedersdatter, was 20. He married Ane Danielsdatter on 25 April 1852, in Fuglse, Maribo, Denmark. They were the parents of at least 4 sons. He immigrated to Utah, United States in 1866 and lived in Østofte, Fuglse, Maribo, Denmark for about 16 years and Stokkemarke, Lollands Sønder, Maribo, Denmark in 1860. He died on 18 June 1903, in Provo, Utah, Utah, United States, at the age of 75, and was buried in Provo City Cemetery, Provo, Utah, Utah, United States.

1829 · Oldest Leather Goods in Denmark

Kuffert Sorensen was established in 1829 by Carl Peter Sorensen as a leather goods company. Today the business has five locations and each are run by a member of the Sorensen family.

1830 · The Second Great Awakening

Being a second spiritual and religious awakening, like the First Great Awakening, many Churches began to spring up from other denominations. Many people began to rapidly join the Baptist and Methodist congregations. Many converts to these religions believed that the Awakening was the precursor of a new millennial age.

1847 · Casino Theatre (Copenhagen)

The Casino Theatre was built as an entertainment center by Georg Carstensen but was converted into a theatre in 1848. After many years of never gaining popularity, it was closed in 1937 and demolished in 1960.
