When Bodil Boletta Mortensen was born on 15 September 1832, in Junget, Skivehus, Denmark, her father, Diderik Mortensen, was 26 and her mother, Maren Jensdatter, was 28. She married George Frederick Hamson on 2 February 1857, in Salt Lake City, Salt Lake, Utah, United States. They were the parents of at least 4 sons and 6 daughters. She immigrated to New Orleans, Orleans, Louisiana, United States in 1855 and lived in Fovlum, Gislum, Ålborg, Denmark in 1850 and Utah, United States in 1870. She died on 29 August 1909, in Brigham City, Box Elder, Utah, United States, at the age of 76, and was buried in Brigham City Cemetery, Brigham City, Box Elder, Utah, United States.

1836 · Remember the Alamo

Being a monumental event in the Texas Revolution, The Battle of the Alamo was a thirteen-day battle at the Alamo Mission near San Antonio. In the early morning of the final battle, the Mexican Army advanced on the Alamo. Quickly being overrun, the Texian Soldiers quickly withdrew inside the building. The battle has often been overshadowed by events from the Mexican–American War, But the Alamo gradually became known as a national battle site and later named an official Texas State Shrine.
