He married Susanah Lister on 13 July 1830, in Wilcox, Alabama, United States. They were the parents of at least 4 sons and 3 daughters. He lived in Holt, Missouri, United States in 1850 and Utah, United States in 1870. He died on 7 April 1889, in Brigham City, Box Elder, Utah, United States, at the age of 86, and was buried in Brigham City Cemetery, Brigham City, Box Elder, Utah, United States.
