When Moses Clawson was born on 8 October 1801, in Dryden, Tompkins, New York, United States, his father, Ebenezer Clawson, was 30 and his mother, Lowly Lola Foote, was 23. He married Cornelia Brown on 28 August 1821, in Groton, Tompkins, New York, United States. They were the parents of at least 7 sons and 5 daughters. He immigrated to United States in 1853 and lived in Salt Lake, Utah, United States in 1849 and Springville, Utah, Utah, United States in 1860. He died on 14 June 1879, in Toquerville, Washington, Utah, United States, at the age of 77, and was buried in Toquerville Cemetery, Toquerville, Washington, Utah, United States.
