He died on 24 April 1906, in Rexburg, Madison, Idaho, United States, at the age of 80, and was buried in Hyrum City Cemetery, Hyrum, Cache, Utah, United States.

Being a second spiritual and religious awakening, like the First Great Awakening, many Churches began to spring up from other denominations.
