When Sarah Gillions was born on 22 March 1832, in Northill, Bedfordshire, England, United Kingdom, her father, William Guillians, was 32 and her mother, Elizabeth Saxton, was 33. She immigrated to Utah, United States in 1854 and lived in Logan, Cache, Utah, United States in 1880. She died on 24 September 1854, in Wyoming, United States, at the age of 22, and was buried in Wyoming, United States.

1833 · The Factory Act Restricts Child Labor

The Factory Act restricted the hours women and children could work in textile mills. No child under the age of 9 were allowed to work, and children ages 9-13 could not work longer than 9 hours per day. Children up to the age of 13 were required to receive at least two hours of schooling, six days per week.

1836 · Remember the Alamo

Being a monumental event in the Texas Revolution, The Battle of the Alamo was a thirteen-day battle at the Alamo Mission near San Antonio. In the early morning of the final battle, the Mexican Army advanced on the Alamo. Quickly being overrun, the Texian Soldiers quickly withdrew inside the building. The battle has often been overshadowed by events from the Mexican–American War, But the Alamo gradually became known as a national battle site and later named an official Texas State Shrine.

1842 · Mines and Collieries Act of 1842

The Parliment of the United Kingdom passed the Mines and Collieries Act of 1842, mostly commonly known as the Mines Act of 1842. This act made it so that nobody under the age of ten could work in the mines and also females in general could not be employed.
