In 1855, at the age of 64, his occupation is listed as turnpiking as per letter written to son, levi savage jr. in Salt Lake City, Salt Lake, Utah, United States. He died on 27 September 1874, in Willard, Box Elder, Utah, United States, at the age of 84, and was buried in Willard City Cemetery, Willard, Box Elder, Utah, United States.
