He married Lydia Aby Presley on 27 January 1853, in Salt Lake City, Salt Lake, Utah, United States. They were the parents of at least 2 sons and 10 daughters. He registered for military service in 1849. He died on 26 February 1897, in Price, Carbon, Utah, United States, at the age of 74, and was buried in Mead Cemetery, Price, Carbon, Utah, United States.

1825 · The Crimes Act

The Crimes Act was made to provide a clearer punishment of certain crimes against the United States. Part of it includes: Changing the maximum sentence of imprisonment to be increased from seven to ten years and changing the maximum fine from $5,000 to $10,000.

1829 · Farmington Canal Opened

Farmington Canal spans 2,476 acres, starting from New Haven, Connecticut, and on to Northampton, Massachusetts. The groundbreaking for the canal was in 1825 and opened in 1829.
