He married Mary Frances Van Buren on 17 November 1850, in Garden Grove, Decatur, Iowa, United States. They were the parents of at least 4 sons and 5 daughters. He lived in Hebron, Washington, Utah, United States in 1870 and Panaca, Lincoln, Nevada, United States in 1880. He registered for military service in 1853. He died on 28 April 1899, in Manti, Sanpete, Utah, United States, at the age of 74, and was buried in Manti Cemetery, Manti, Sanpete, Utah, United States.
