He married Elsa Ann Curtis on 8 November 1846, in Council Bluffs, Pottawattamie, Iowa, United States. They were the parents of at least 3 sons and 8 daughters. He lived in Utah, United States in 1870 and Hyrum Election Precinct, Cache, Utah, United States in 1900. He died on 8 March 1904, in Hyrum, Cache, Utah, United States, at the age of 82, and was buried in Hyrum City Cemetery, Hyrum, Cache, Utah, United States.
