When Elizabeth Strait was born on 30 January 1804, in Barren, Kentucky, United States, her father, Israel Strait, was 27 and her mother, Hannah Thompson, was 18. She married Absalom Pennington Free Sr on 1 August 1823, in St. Clair, Illinois, United States. They were the parents of at least 4 sons and 8 daughters. She immigrated to Utah, United States in 1848 and lived in Salt Lake City, Salt Lake, Utah, United States in 1860 and Salt Lake, Utah, United States in 1870. She died on 24 June 1885, in Sugar House, Salt Lake City, Salt Lake, Utah, United States, at the age of 81, and was buried in Salt Lake City Cemetery, Salt Lake City, Salt Lake, Utah, United States.

During the New Madrid earthquakes of 1811-1812, the Kentucky Bend or New Madrid Bend was created. It is located in the southwestern corner of Kentucky on the banks of the Mississippi River.

1830 · The Second Great Awakening

Being a second spiritual and religious awakening, like the First Great Awakening, many Churches began to spring up from other denominations. Many people began to rapidly join the Baptist and Methodist congregations. Many converts to these religions believed that the Awakening was the precursor of a new millennial age.
