He married Sidsel Marie Pedersdatter on 16 April 1860, in Hjorring Sankt Catherainæ, Sankt Catharinæ, Vennebjerg, Hjørring, Denmark. They were the parents of at least 1 daughter. He died on 28 February 1893, in Manti, Sanpete, Utah, United States, at the age of 68, and was buried in Manti, Sanpete, Utah, United States.
