He married Thirza Stiles on 11 December 1810, in Newport, Newport, Herkimer, New York, United States. They were the parents of at least 5 sons and 2 daughters. He lived in Nauvoo, Hancock, Illinois, United States in 1839. He registered for military service in 1812. He died on 29 April 1861, in Salt Lake, Utah, United States, at the age of 70, and was buried in Salt Lake City, Salt Lake, Utah, United States.
