He lived in Søndersted, Merløse, Holbæk, Denmark in 1860 and Bindslev, Horns, Hjørring, Denmark for about 20 years. He died on 23 May 1920, in Hyrum, Cache, Utah, United States, at the age of 91, and was buried in Hyrum City Cemetery, Hyrum, Cache, Utah, United States.
